California To Require Health Care Worker To Show Proof Of Covid Vaccine

California is among the growing list of places to require state and health care workers to require proof of coronavirus vaccination. 

Governor Gavin Newsom says the vaccine verification and testing program for state employees will be implemented starting August 2nd and will be phased in over the next few weeks. At the same time, the Department of Veterans Affairsbecame the first federal agencyto require such vaccinations, by announcing that all 115,000 of its frontline health care workers must receive a coronavirus inoculation in the next two months or face possible termination.

New cases per day have risen fourfoldin the U.S. over the last month, leading some public health experts to call for stricter measures to increase lagging vaccination rates.
