Former Senator Barbara Boxer Assaulted, Robbed In Oakland

Former Senator Barbara Boxer is not seriously hurt after she was assaulted and robbed in Oakland. 

Boxer says she was in Jack London Square yesterday when the incident happened. The robber allegedly pushed her in the back and stole her cell phone before taking off in a getaway car. The former senator sought help inside a nearby Verizon store, KTVU reported.In a statementon Twitter, Boxer said she was not seriously injured in the attack. No arrests have been made.

Boxer served as a senator for 24 years before retiring in 2017. Vice President Harris succeeded Boxer before joining President Biden’s ticket last year.
