Yolo County residents will have to start wearing masks indoors regardless of vaccination status.

Starting Friday, face coverings will be required for everyone in indoor public spaces. The health order will remain in effect until the case rate falls significantly. The mandate comes amid a rise in positivity rates across California. Yolo County COVID numbers are heading in the wrong direction, according to Sisson, thanks in large part to the highly infectious Delta variant which now accounts for 88% of COVID cases in Yolo County.

That number is derived from testing done through the Healthy Davis Together initiative, which has test sites concentrated in Davis and other locations across the county, according to KCRA.
