Northern California-based health care provider is making COVID-19 vaccines mandatory for all its employees and doctors.
The healthcare giant says it's the next step in the organization's ongoing effort to protect the health and safety of its workforce, members, patients and communities. This week, Kaiser will start requiring employees to show proof of vaccination. By August 23rd, those unvaccinated must be tested for the virus twice a week. Kaiser's Michelle Gaskill-Hames says in Northern California, 78% of employees and 95% of physicians are vaccinated.

This follows a mandatory state order by Governor Newsom for all healthcare employees to get vaccinated, but also allowing for wearing masks and submitting a regular Covid test instead.
However, according to The Sacramento Bee, Kaiser senior vice president Michelle Gaskill-Hames, said the only exceptions will be for those claiming religious or medical grounds. “We want to get to a fully vaccinated workforce,” she told reporters
