Current Sacramento Police Chief Daniel Hahn took to Twitter Wednesday to announce his plans to retire at the end of 2021. Hahn said he made his intentions clear to City Manager Howard Chan that same afternoon. In his Tweet, Hahn said the day was significant to him as it was the anniversary of getting sworn into that role. In a follow up Tweet, Hahn says that serving as chief in the city he was raised in is the highest honor of his life. There is no word as to who will take his place after his retirement.
