In another sign that California's recall election is too close to call.
This morning President Biden has now entered the frey. “Governor Newsom is leading California through unprecedented crises,” Biden said in a statement. “He is a key partner in fighting the pandemic and delivering economic relief to working families and helping us build our economy back better than ever. He’s taking on the climate crisis and standing up for the rights of women, immigrants, and the LGBTQ community. He knows how to get the job done because he’s been doing it.”
In a race that recent polls show is razor thin. The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting this morning that both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will take more active roles in the campaign ahead of the Sept. 14 special election. The explicit show of support for Newsom comes ahead of the first-term Democrat’s first major campaign tour, which kicks off Friday in San Francisco and continues through Monday in Los Angeles, San Diego and other locations that have yet to be announced.
