Department Of Justice Investigating School Board Threats Nationwide

The Department of Justice has announced it is investigating threats made against teachers and school board members nationwide.

A directive that comes amidst a surge in confrontations at local school board meetings over topics like masking, vaccine mandates and racism. California School Boards C-I-O Troy Flint sees it as increasing hostility at meetings that are normally "sleepy affairs." Meanwhile, the founder of California-based "Let Them Breathe," Sharon McKeeman, says right now parental concerns about student's mental health are at an all-time high. She advocates for parents to continue to speak up, but adds, it must be respectful on both sides.

The announcement comes after the National School Boards Association (NSBA) asked President Biden for “immediate assistance” to help teachers, school board members and students who have seen threats over mask mandates and critical race theory.
