KFBK has learned this morning that dozens of local students and their families who have been stranded in Afghanistan for months are now out of the country.

The students go to school in the Sacramento City Unified school district. Recently three students from Ethel I Baker Elementary School were rescued. Only one family is left in the country, and they are set to be evacuated this week. In all, 34 students and their family members, totaling 70 people, were left in the country until recently.

Ethel I Baker Elementary School Principal Nate McGill will provide an update on the families later this week.
