It looks like our Northern California region will be getting some rain today.
The National Weather Service’s Sacramento office is predicting the region will get anywhere from a tenth of an inch to a full inch of rain. Forecasters expect Monday’s rain showers to be followed up by another storm system that could bring more precipitation later this week. It reportedly will not look similar to last week’s record-setting ”bomb cyclone,” which triggered localized flooding in Sacramento and dumped more than five inches over the city in a single day, but more of a light chance of rain for the area.
Elsewhere in Northern California, Monday’s showers could bring a bit more substantial precipitation. The weather service expects up to a quarter inch of rain in Grass Valley, up to an inch in Santa Rosa and less than a tenth in South Lake Tahoe. “A break in the weather is expected Tuesday and Wednesday with milder temperatures ahead of another system for late in the week,” weather service meteorologists wrote in a Sunday forecast discussion. “More rain is expected after mid-week.”
