Governor Newsom's office says the Governor will make his first public appearance today in almost two weeks.

His office insists he’ll be back in the spotlight this week to talk about the economy. “Last week Governor Newsom worked in the Capitol with staff on urgent issues including COVID-19 vaccines for kids, boosters, ports, the forthcoming state budget and California’s continued economic recovery,” said Press Secretary Daniel Lopez. “He will have public events this week related to the economy and vaccines.” Governor Newsom is also expected to appear at an economic summit, after disappearing from the public eye for 13 days. This follows his abruptly cancelled scheduled trip to the Global Climate Summit in Scotland. which his office said he missed while attending to family obligations.

"Funny how some people can't handle the truth. When someone cancels something, maybe they are in the office just working; maybe in their free time they are at home with their family, or at their kid's sports matches, or dining out with their wife. Please stop hating and get a life," Siebel Newsom said in a tweet that was quickly deleted.

ABC7 in San Francisco reports that over the past weekend, Newsom attended the wedding of a family friend from the Getty family.
