Despite all the talk from the county about masks being mandatory, that they were given out to fans walking in and that minders would be telling people to put them on - there was very little mask compliance at SoFi stadium.

As well as attendants to the game, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and a host of Hollywood celebs have also been slammed for \going maskless at the Super Bowl despite the local mandate. Currently, Los Angeles county requires everyone aged 2 or older to wear a face covering, except when they were eating or drinking. Fans aged 5 and older also had to show either a COVID-19 vaccine card, a negative PCR test within 48 hours or a negative antigen test within 24 hours to enter the stadium for the game. California still has not implemented their mask mandate pull back announcement, allowing vaccinated individuals to go maskless indoors starting starting this week.

L.A. County public health officials released the latest COVID-19 numbers on Sunday, showing that there were nearly 4,900 new cases and 58 deaths reported in the past 24 hours. More than 2,000 people are hospitalized with COVID. Health experts will be reportedly watching the numbers closely this week to see if there will be a surge of cases following the game.
