KFBK Morning News Show Recap - Tuesday March 15th

Lead Stories:

  1. Governor Newsom has signed a new law that reverses a recent court ruling that ordered administrators at UC Berkeley to turn away thousands of students because the university does not have enough student housing. The bill was passed unanimously by both the California State Assembly and the State Senate, which overrides a California Supreme Court decision that capped UC Berkeley enrollment at Fall 2021 levels.
  2. The Sacramento region is waking up to some rain today, after a record-setting two months without rain. After 67 recorded days without rain, today's rain totals look to end up around 0.25 inches.
  3. California lawmakers have rejected a plan to halt the gas tax in California as gas prices skyrocket for drivers. Assembly Bill 1638, introduced by Assemblymember Kevin Kiley in January, was dead on arrival in the legislature.
