Popular TikTok Trends That Are Actually VERY Dangerous

When you scroll on TikTok, there’s always a viral trend that we think are really unique life hacks that we can do at home… whether it’s to lose weight, look better, or just feel better.

However, there are so many trends that go viral with millions of views, likes, and duets of others trying it… that are actually very dangerous.

Here are some of TikTok’s current popular trends Ryan Seacrest shared on-air that can be either harmless… or extremely harmful.

THE BENADRYL CHALLENGE - In this trend, people take large amounts of Benadryl to induce hallucinations.

GOOD OR BAD?
This may be a no-brainer, but DO NOT DO THIS. It’s incredibly dangerous.

DIY TEETH WHITENING - TikTokers are putting hydrogen peroxide directly on their teeth to whiten them.

GOOD OR BAD?
This can cause SERIOUS damage to your teeth by burning off enamel from your teeth. DON’T DO IT.

GARLIC UP YOUR NOSE - After COVID season and people trying to figure out the best home remedies to clear congestion, the idea for this is to clear congestion by sticking a clove of raw garlic in your nose.

GOOD OR BAD?
Do not stick anything up your nose! This will actually cause mucus to build up and increase congestion… and can irritate your skin.

SWALLOWING PAPAYA SEEDS - TikTokers say this will get rid of parasites and worms in your intestinal tract.

GOOD OR BAD
You’re probably not going to hurt yourself… but there is NO evidence this works.

DRY SCOOPING PROTEIN POWDER - In this trend, you would dump a scoop of dry protein powder in your mouth before a workout.

GOOD OR BAD?
As popular as this may seem, it is VERY dangerous and could be actually be deadly.

LEMON COFFEE - Adding lemon juice to a cup of coffee will supposedly help you lose weight.

GOOD OR BAD?
It won’t hurt you…but it also won’t work. And it’s gross.
