Machete Wielding Man Arrested After Alleged Attack On Bicyclist

After an hours long manhunt for the suspect in a violent attack on a bicyclist in Rancho Cordova, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says they have arrested the man who they believe is behind the attack. 42-year old James Hall of Sacramento was arrested Wednesday morning. The attack happened Monday afternoon near Zinfandel Drive when a 60-year old Rancho Cordova resident was assualted in an unprovoaked attack by a person with a machete. The man who was wounded during the attack is reportedly in grave condition and is not expected to survive. Sacramento Sheriff spokesperson Rod Grassman says in a news release that Hall is being charged with one count of attempted homicide and is being held without bail.
