  3. A bill that aims to make child sex trafficking a serious felony in the state is on hold at the capitol, for now. SB14 is a bipartisan bill that passed unanimously out of the Senate but has been moved to the Assembly Appropriations Committee suspense file over fiscal impact concerns. Click here to read more.
  4. Hundreds of business owners rallied at the Capitol to protest and speak out against Senate Bill 553, which they say is a "business killer". The bill's author says it is designed to prevent workplace violence, but business owners say it will only encourage more shoplifting by placing more restrictions on store clerks and owners.
