- Prosecutors in Sacramento are suing their own city over the failure of cleaning up homeless encampments. District Attorney Thien Ho says the growing encampments are a public nuisance and the city needs to act to protect residents and those living in the camps. Mayor Darrell Steinberg, in a written response, says the DA is deflecting responsibility and the lawsuit lacks basic understanding of existing shelter management systems. Click here to read more.
- The City Council is committing more than $4.6 million to keep a navigation shelter for homeless people open. The funding comes from state grants.
