  2. California is likely falling into a deeper budget shortfall than originally projected. When the tax filing deadline was extended to mid-October due to the impact of California's winter storms, the State Department of Finance expected California would collect 42 billion tax dollars in October. Starting tomorrow, the National Weather Service says the region will see light showers and that it will increase by Friday night into Saturday and Sunday.   4. Some fast food companies, like McDonald's and Chipotle, are already concerned about having to raise prices in California due to the new $20 an hour minimum wage law. Fox Business is reporting that on the last McDonald's earning call, CEO Chris Kempczinski says the wage law will impact the California franchisees, even hinting at price increases and analyzing productivity of the restaurants.
