- The Senate Public Safety Committee is passing the bill that looks to make purchasing a child for sex a felony offense in California. During the debate process for SB 1414, some argued against adding another felony offense, but ultimetley voted that this offense deserves a higher punishment. - The Senate Public Safety Committee is rejecting a bill that looked to criminalize sitting, sleeping or camping on streets or sidewalks within 500 feet of schools, parks, or transit stations. Click here to read more.
