Big Al's Weekend Movie Box Office Wrap-Up! #Venom, #AStarIsBorn Wins!

The box office is seeing it’s best October numbers ever thanks to some new releases over the weekend. “Venom” has broken box office records with its debut, earning the top spot by raking in a massive $80-million for its first weekend. It’s officially dethroned “Gravity,” which made $55-point-eight million, as the highest October opening ever.

 

Meanwhile, “A Star Is Born,” another buzzworthy debut, earned a solid $23-million. So it’s safe to say that fans and critics alike are enjoying the film, which has a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Smallfoot” has earned the third spot for its second weekend, making $14-point-9 million this time. Rather than last week, it beat “Night School," which follows close behind with $12-point-three million, taking the fourth spot. Other previous releases are still going strong in the rest of the Top 10, like “A Simple Favor,” “The Nun” and “Crazy Rich Asians.”
