For some teenage girls, it’s never too early to start thinking about prom. As prom season approaches, finding the perfect dress is important and it also needs to fit within the budget. But a shop in South Philadelphia is making it easy for families in need to afford the dresses their daughters want to wear to prom by giving them away.
Carolyn Zinni’s Bridal Salon is donating 89 gowns ahead of prom season to families who may not be able to buy one for their teen. Zinni started the dress giveaway tradition in her Delaware County store around 17 years ago and it makes prom dreams become a reality for some girls.
"I'm blessed in my personal life,” Zinni explains, “so I felt like I needed to do something to give back.”
