Veteran Teacher Fundraiser Keeps Jenny Weast Working

They call themselves Weaster Warriors and work all year to organize an event for a teacher at Oakmont High School. Jenny Weast has taught and coached cheer leading for 30 years despite a skiing accident that made her a quadriplegic during her own high school years.

When state laws changed a couple of years ago, her income as a teacher disqualified her from the disability money she used to pay a caregiver. Which means she would lose her job.

This morning on KFBK, we interview one of her former students who is helping raise money to keep her independent and on the job...doing what she does best, educating young people in Roseville.
