I had the honor of emceeing "Runway 2018" in Folsom on Sunday which celebrates differently-abled children and adults. The event raises money and awareness for inclusion of special needs and differently-abled people in all aspects of society but most specifically in recreation and sports.
On a Sunday afternoon, the kids walked the runway with community leaders. The fire chief showed up as did the Superintendent of the school district, city council members and business leaders.
While there, I met Elizabeth Morabito who publishes an inclusion magazine called, "Meet Me". She started the publication to profile people with disabilities in hopes of helping others understand their lives, desires, professions and passions. This little publication is now being used nationwide in inclusion campaigns.
We did a story on the KFBK morning news but I wanted to link you to the publication here if you're interested. This linke will take you to the publication search where you can enter "Meet Me".
