Humanity's Back Up Plan

When SpaceX launched their Falcon rocket last Thursday it carried humanity's back up plan. A group called the Arch Mission Foundation created a lunar library encoding a specially designed disc with a 30 million page document highlighting humanity's greatest offerings and accomplishments. It covers all subjects, cultures, nations, languages, genres and time periods.

The disc is designed to last a billion years and is on the way to the moon aboard the Israeli craft that was carried to space by the Falcon 9. The Arch Mission Foundation is trying to put as many of these cultural back up discs as possible into space.
