It's one thing to flood your friends Instagram feeds with a nonstop narrative of your life but does your partner or spouse go along with it or pester you about it? If you’re on the same page either or or against social…no problem. Its when person is a social media extrovert and the other isn’t that you need a conversation.

Alexandra Samuel is a writer and researcher on all things social media. She and her husband have integrated social into all aspects of their couple and family life. I asked her when should social come up in a relationship…first date? Third date?

Alexandra says the biggest problem comes if you are trying to maintain privacy because being linked to someone in your personal life who is very active online will almost always mean an online trail of details on your life…even if you’re not engaging directly with social media.
