The artist that created the "Piglet" sculpture that sits outside the Golden 1 Center has just sold another piece that sets the world record price for a living artist. Jeff Koons is the artists name and the sculpture is called "Rabbit". It looks like an inflatable bunny made of stainless steel. It sold at Christie's in New York for 91 million dollars and change. Koons also created "Piglet", which sits outside of Golden One center...and now looks like a screaming deal at 8 million dollars. It was a controversial purchase when the arena was being built. The city of Sacramento chipped in 2 million for Piglet but most of the funding for the sculpture was private. So with this new Koons sale, Piglet has to be worth more right? Who purchased Koon's latest work? The father of treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin, Bob Mnuchin, who says he purchased the piece for a client.
