The Challenges of Building In California

As California communities call for more affordable housing, home builders are buckling under regulations and taxes that make building in California more challenging than just about any other state. In this segment we talk to Elizabeth Matulonis of Keller Williams. She says its not just taxes and fees but material costs and title 24 which requires builders update energy efficiency standards every three years. Communities are facing requirements for more affordable housing but affordable for the consumer isn't affordable for many builders.
