A new report says women business owners can find it hard to be taken seriously, even as their companies grow into multi-million-dollar enterprises. Many of the owners said they were misunderstood and discounted by other business people including investors, and also said they encountered mistaken assumptions about why they launched their companies in the first place.
Women account for only 5% of CEO's in the US and there are more American CEOs with the name "John" than all of female CEOs currently in existence.
