El Dorado Hills residents David and Ally McKay run a business called McKay Live and were most worried about their tours for photographers when the pandemic first hit. Their concerns were magnified when both of them tested positive for Covid19. David's symptoms progressed to the point of hospitalization at UC Davis and he says there were moments he doubted his survival.
David became part of the UC Davis clinical trial for Remdesivir and although he doesn't know if he actually received the drug (blind study with placebo), he was feeling well enough to be discharged a few days later.
