One of the great things about this business is you meet some interesting people. News makers, politicians, sports stars, even the occasional celebrity. One of those people I had the chance to meet was actor and martial artist Ray Park. You might not recognize the name, but he played "Darth Maul" in "Star Wars: Episode 1- The Phantom Menace.
Turns out Ray went to school not to far from where I did when I lived in England years ago. I met him at a comic con. He was sitting by himself at a table, and I went over to introduce myself. We ended up talking for 20 minutes about work, kids, our wives (I'm newly married and now have two young children). We talked about everything EXCEPT Star Wars.
And that's what impresses me the most about the people I meet in this biz. When they're not followed around by their PR flacks, press agents, managers or aides, they're some of the most down to earth people you'd want to meet, and they always seem to have time to talk with you.
Now, as for the question is he the greatest villain in the Star Wars galaxy...that's a question for another time. After all, who am I to argue with a Sith Lord?
