Social media is exploding with people calling the latest ad from Pepsi, one of the worst ideas ever. Some say it patronizes the Black Lives Matter movement. Others are calling it "tone deaf." In a statement late Tuesday night, Pepsi defended the ad, saying “This is a global ad that reflects people from different walks of life coming together in a spirit of harmony, and we think that’s an important message to convey.” Either way, the company is getting lots of free publicity.
