Nearly five children lose their lives to abuse and neglect every day in this country, according to the US Department of Health and Human Services. Back in 1983, President Reagan declared April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month and each year since it has been observed nationally.

The president's son, Michael, is someone who survived abuse when he was 7 years old. He was sexually mosested. He he's been very outspoken about this and wrote a great book called "On the Outside Looking In."
