I saw this ad come across one of my social streams over the Christmas holiday:
Hate those creeping crow's-feet? Want to do away with your creases and reduce wrinkles on your forehead? A youthful visage is now a click away with Fotor's Wrinkle Remover!
I've noticed more and more people using these apps...erasing lines from their face, but also erasing all character from who they are as a person!
Now, I'll be the first to admit, being in the media, we're all a little vain. We want to sound and look our best. But at the same time, we've earned these wrinkles, and laugh lines, and crow's feet. They tell others who we are, where we came from, and give our face character.
Honestly, when I tried out one of these apps, I didn't think I looked anything like me. My face looked like I had overdosed on Botox. It made me look like a wax statue. And people who know me would see this picture and know that's not who I really am.
Look, at the end of the day, it's up to the individual to choose what side of their personality they want to publicly show off. For me, I'll take my hard earned wrinkles and crow's feet and even the gray hair (which I still call dish-water blonde, but that's another blog for another day).
