My wife and I have slowly been working on the front garden and in the back yard. A couple of years ago we had to dig out two massive trees, then replant the lawn. Now, those darn voles are back, and we're trying to keep them from digging more tunnels under the lawn and eating the roots of our plants. So far the lawn's looking good.
Gradually my wife has managed to revive the roses the previous owners neglected, and we've planted our own in the back yard. There's a lot more to do, but by the time I get home, working outside in the mid-afternoon heat, kind of wears me down fast...so we're taking out time.
But we've come a long way since we first started planting. I guess that's what yard work and gardening teaches you...patience. It's not something I have a lot of, but I guess I'm going to have to get used to it if I want to take this up as a hobby.
