Thinking about my mom today. She would have been 74. She passed away six years ago this Labor Day weekend.
There's a lot she's missed since in those years. I lived in New Zealand, moved to Sacramento, got married to the woman mom always hoped I would, became a dad (to twins), bought a new house, started co-hosting a great show at KFBK in Sacramento and have become a network correspondent for a New Zealand radio company.
I still think about her, and how she would drive me to my first radio internship twice a week when I was in my early teens. She was so proud of what I did, and was my number one fan. I owe her...and my dad...a lot. I hope, wherever you are today mom, you're celebrating with some cake and a nice cup of tea. Love ya.
