6 Local Events to Honor Veterans Day This Weekend

The 8th Annual City of Sacramento Veteran's Day Parade

The 8th Annual City of Sacramento Veteran's Day Parade Will take place this Sunday with a special salute to Women in the Military - past, present, and future. 

It starts at 10 AM on the main stage at 7th Street and Capitol Mall with the parade following at 11 a.m. at 9th Street and Capitol Mall. As part of the celebration honoring women in the military, a photo exhibit is currently on display in the lobby at Sacramento City Hall through Nov. 14.


2018 Veteran’s Day Party in McKinley Park

This free family friendly event will have live music, food trucks, a local beer and wine garden, bounce houses, and raffles benefiting the Sacramento-based veteran-founded non-profit organization Ranger Road.

18th Annual Wayne Spence Folsom Veterans Day Parade

The theme of this year's parade in Folsom is "Celebrating Over a Century of Service to Our Country". 18th Annual Wayne Spence Folsom Veterans Day Parade starts at 9AM on the corner of East Bidwell St. & Montrose Dr. and ends at City Lions Park.

Route: 

The parade begins on East Bidwell Street in front of the HomeGoods/Target parking lot (parade floats and participants queue in the parking lot and proceed to the route via Montrose Drive). The parade travels northwest along East Bidwell Street to turn right on Coloma Street, then right on Natoma Street to finish at the Folsom Community Center, 52 Natoma Street (entire route is approximately 1.5 miles).

A brief memorial ceremony takes place immediately following the parade, in Folsom City Lions Park at the Veterans Memorial.
