Sacramento County District Attorney candidate Noah Phillips is taking heat for an e-mail he received two years ago on his Sacramento County e-mail account.
It came from a man he identifies as his uncle and describes the drinking and sexual practices of women of different nationalities. It suggests that a second date with an Arab woman ends with the man dead and his private parts fed to goats---and that every date with Irish women ends with both parties blind drunk and having sex.
What has Phillips in trouble is his response to his uncle. Phillips says the e-mail is "Work appropriate... For that matter appropriate anywhere." And adds "Ah, the luck of the Irish."
The e-mail was provided anonymously to the Sacramento Bee, which says it has confirmed that it was gathered as part of an investigation into misconduct allegedly committed by Phillips in a 2016 murder case.
Phillips has denied the wrongdoing and accuses backers of incumbent District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert of "hacking" his county e-mail account.
