Joe Michaels guides "Christopher Ribbet”to victory in the Capitol Frog Jump

California lawmakers gathered on the East lawn of the State Capitol Wednesday for a friendly competition promoting one of the state's longest-running and best known county fairs. Democrats and Republicans tried everything from kissing the amphibians to blowing on their backsides in hopes of coaxing the biggest leap of the 45th annual “Capitol Frog Jump.”

When all was said 'n' done Florencio Vaca from the office of Assemblywoman Luz Rivas took first place overall - his frog "Rana Del Rey" jumping 12 feet 1 inch while KFBK’s Joe Michaels jockeyed his frog, “Christopher Ribbet” to his sixth win in the Media Division!

The annual event promotes the upcoming Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 16th through the 19th. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THE UPCOMING EVENT.
