Producer Kendall: New Treatments for Blood Cancers with Dr. Jacobson
Hi guys! Producer Kendall here. For those of our listeners who may not know I was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of blood cancer called: Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) on September 4th of 2019. I spent 1 month in the hospital where I received numerous blood and platelet transfusions and spent the last 9 months taking ATRA chemotherapy pills and getting arsenic trioxide chemotherapy infusions into my Power Port in my chest. I had my Power Port removed at the end of May and am happy to say thanks to my amazing oncologist Dr. Law, nurses at Kaiser Roseville and all of your prayers I am cured and healthy!
September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and this morning I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Caron Jacobson, Medical Director of the Immune Effector Cell Therapy Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, about new and innovative treatments to fight blood cancer. Please click the arrow in the heart below to hear out chat and be sure to go their website HERE if you would like to learn more.
Thanks for tuning in! - Producer Kendall
