Joe Biden Has Testy Exchange With Iowa Voter Who Questions Him On Ukraine

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden got into a tense exchange with a voter during a town hall meeting in New Hampton, Iowa. The man, who only identified himself as an 83-year-old farmer, told Biden that he was "too old" to be president and then accused Biden of helping get his son a role on the board of a Ukrainian gas company.

“You, on the other hand, sent your son over there to get a job and work for a gas company and [who] had no experience in natural gas,” the farmer said. “You’re selling access to the president just like [Trump] is.”

Biden lost his cool and called the man "a damn liar."

“You’re a damn liar, man. That’s not true. And no one has ever said that,” Biden retorted.

Biden asserted that he was fit enough physically and mentally to be president and challenged the man, saying, "Let’s do push-ups together here, man. Let’s run. Let’s do whatever you want to do. Let’s take an IQ test."

After a testy back and forth exchange, the man said: “Well, I’m not voting for you."

Biden acknowledged that fact and then took another swipe at the man's age.

“Well, I knew you weren’t,” Biden said. “You’re too old to vote for me.”

The crowd cheered Biden's remark, and the man returned to his seat. After the town hall was over, Biden told reporters that he was defending his son and that he did not lose to his temper.

“I didn’t lose my temper. You want to see my temper, keep going,” Biden said. “I didn’t lose my temper. What I wanted to do was shut this down.”
