Sacramento SPCA Pet Of The Week: Peanut

Are you ready to meet Peanut - the cutest, tubbiest, nicest Chihuahua ever! (According to her foster family!) This 14 year old Chihuahua has been in foster care for over two months, so we can tell you a lot about her:

  • Good with people
  • Good with big dogs
  • Good with small dogs
  • Good with cats
  • Good with kittens
  • Good with kids that are good with dogs
  • Housetrained
  • Walks well on leash
  • Likes car rides
  • Crate trained

Peanut has been in foster due to a rather strange foot condition that causes her feet to collect keratin and not slough off like they should. We've found the best way to keep her pawsies under control is for her to receive a paw-dicure a few times a week which includes a 10 minute foot soak and ointment rubbed in to her paws. Peanut is cooperative, especially when she receives a treat afterwards! Speaking of treats, Peanut has lost about 4 lbs since she arrived, but could stand to lose a bit more to keep her healthy. (She disagrees, but we told her she doesn’t really get a say in the matter!)

  • Name: Peanut
  • Animal ID: 47851522

  • Sex: Spayed Female
