Baxter is a 4.5 year old and 62 pound Cattldog who is looking for his forever home. He is very active and loves to play. He is all about the ball and truly believes the tennis ball (and fetch) is life. He is deaf so he could use some help learning sign language, although he seems to already have a good handle on some hand cues. He would love to join his family on hikes, runs, jogs, and more active adventures! Baxter might do well with other dogs in the home, but his herding instincts are a bit too much for cats!

Adoption Process: At 9:00 am each morning a link will go live at sspca.org/dogs where you can schedule an appointment to come down to the shelter that day to meet an available animal. Animals pictured on this page may be adopted prior to your appointment time. Shelter staff will let you know when you arrive what animals are still available to be adopted and any special considerations the animal might have. Only one animal may be met with per family, per day. Once you have finished a counsel and a meet-and-greet, you will be able to adopt!
