Pepper is a 9 year old and 56 pound Pittie mix who is looking for her forever home. She's a great low maintenance dog who wants to spend most of the day snuggled up on the couch or in her bed. She loves hanging out with her people and likes to play with toys, especially tennis balls and carboard puzzle toys. She's affectionate and will never turn down a good belly rub. She has also enjoyed car rides and trips down to the river! Pepper will make a great companion for someone who's looking for a chill house hippo, plus she even loves kiddos! Her adoption fee was sponsored by a loving fan!
While Pepper has not been diagnosed with a terminal condition, she is a senior dog with multiple ongoing health issues that have been worsening in the shelter environment. We hope to place Pepper in a home where she can be comfortable for her remaining years and provide her new family with medical support for Pepper's diagnosed health conditions through our Pawspice Program. The SacSPCA Pawspice Program provides adopters with medical support for their new furry family member's diagnosed medical conditions. Through the Pawspice Program Pepper will receive regular exams and medication for her arthritis, urinary incontinence, and skin issues. Pepper recently went on a Foster Furlough fieldtrip and here is what her Furlough Friend had to say about her: "Pepper is very easy going, calm in the home. She loves her Kongs, treats! Once she feels comfortable with her humans, she can be very affectionate; will nudge you and give you kisses, rolls to her side for belly rubs! Loves to be petted!"
Sweet Pepper has been at the Sacramento SPCA since February (over 177 days!) and is still waiting for her forever family. We've decided to treat her to a BIG ADVENTURE and spoil her rotten in the hopes of finding her perfect family.
On Tuesday, August 30th, Pepper will be touring Downtown Sacramento including:
- a new collar at Leash & Collar- hotdog and pup-tail at Midtown Spirits
- luxurious stay at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel for a "Girl's Night" pj party complete with painting nails, bubble bath and a good night's sleep in a cushy hotel bed
Even better? Our friends at Midtown Spirits will be hosting a "Pours for Pepper" where $2 from every cocktail all day will go towards a Leash & Collar gift certificate for Pepper's new family!
