Sacramento SPCA Pet Of The Week: Hamtaro!

Hamtaro is a 3.5 month old kitten looking for a loving home. He has grown up in a foster home since he was 4 weeks old, so he's already used to the house cat life! He tested positive for FeLV at 8 weeks old, but that hasn't stopped him from living life like any other kitten! He has a dainty little meow to match his sweet, loving personality. And he makes quick friends with every person and animal he meets. He loves snuggling up with his foster parents for lots of kisses and purrs and will definitely want to be in bed with his future guardians! You can tell when he's ready for bedtime by looking for the little eye bags he gets when he's sleepy. But its not all cuddles all the time. Just like any other kitten, between naps, he takes off like a little rocket around the house, making sure the adult kitties in his foster home get plenty of exercise. His foster parent is an sspca staff, so he's met lots of animals and people when he comes into work, including large dogs and kids! His adoption fee is fully sponsored by The Joe Willie Initiatives.

Hamtaro has PROGRESSIVE FeLV which means he will likely have a shortened lifespan and higher vet expenses than your average cat. FeLV is contagious to other cats, but not to humans or other animals. However, an FeLV vaccine is available for cats and we vaccinate up to 2 of your resident cats for free! To read more about FeLV, please visit bit.ly/Cornell_FeLV or email adoptions@sspca.org!
