A U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds pilot died Wednesday morning while doing a routine training activity in Nevada.
The pilot, who will not be identified until next of kin is notified, crashed a F-16 Fighting Falcon over the Nevada Test and Training Range around 10:30 a.m. while performing an aerial demonstration training flight.
The crash is being investigated by officials.
The Thunderbirds' 2018 show schedule started two weeks ago and the performance they had booked for the upcoming weekend in Riverside, CA has been canceled.
There is no word yet on how the rest of the season will be handled.
