California Cracking Down On Distracted Driving Today

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month and The California Office of Traffic Safety is taking action to make sure drivers put down their phones and focus on the road.

There will be an increased law enforcement presence on the streets and messages will be displayed on electronic billboards reminding travelers to stay off their electronic devices.

Tickets for texting or handling a cellphone while driving start at $159.

Another crackdown is scheduled to happen on Friday, April 13.
