Solar Required For New California Homes Starting In 2020

The California Energy Commission has voted to require solar panels on new houses, condos and apartment buildings up to three stories tall beginning two years from now. That could add more than ten thousand dollars to the cost of a new home. The commission's vote was 5 to nothing. Final approval will come from the State Building Commission.
