Almost all of the north and southbound lanes on Highway 99 were shut down early Thursday morning after a car crash left two men dead.
The accident took place near the Mack Road exit on the highway around 2 a.m.
Officers said that one car flipped over as a result of the crash and one of the men involved was thrown from his vehicle and landed in the southbound lanes.
One lane was open on the northbound side of the freeway until lanes opened back up around 4 a.m.
There is no word yet on what lead to the crash.
