Sacramento Bee Bomb Scare Over, Package 'Not Dangerous'

Police were called to The Sacramento Bee building on the 2100 block of Q Street just before 8 a.m. Thursday morning after a suspicious package was found by the front door.

Employees evacuated the office and a bomb squad was brought in to investigate.

Q Street between 21st and 22nd was temporarily blocked off until around 9:30 a.m. when police deemed the package not dangerous.

The Bee is reporting that the dark-colored book or laptop bag was dropped off by a man ridding a bicycle sometime between 5:30 and 6 a.m. 

No further details have been released at this time.
