One person has died and six others were injured after a car accident on Interstate 5 near Elk Grove early Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Ford Escape hit a tour van's trailer just after 2:30 a.m. on I-5 between the Twin Cities and Hood Franklin exits.
Passengers were reportedly thrown from the van after it spun out of control and eventually flipped over.
Colin Michael Mulhern, one of the the people traveling in the van, was found dead at the scene. The 30-year-old Colorado man was identified around 9:30 a.m.
The six other van passengers were all taken to the hospital for treatment of major and minor injuries.
The woman driving the Escape was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
