Viral Facebook Post Leads To Arrest In Arden

A woman's viral Facebook post led to the arrest of a man allegedly violating his parole.

Gina Mozingo posted to Facebook warning local woman that a suspicious man was attempting to lure women into his brown van in her Arden neighborhood.

The post, which contained a detailed description of the driver, was shared upwards of 21,000 times as of Thursday morning.

Sacramento police got calls about the man as well and began searching for him, at first with no luck.

A caller, who apparently got information from the post, later helped deputies locate the suspect on Tuesday.

They found 57-year-old Eugene Melady and his girlfriend in a parking lot on Arden Way. After finding several needles in the van, Melady was arrested for being under the influence - a violation of his probation in Sacramento and Kern counties.

While the post did help catch Melady, police say some of the information shared was not accurate.
